If you like walking or cycling, there are many possibilities in and around Volendam. The most important characteristics of these walking and (e-bike) cycling routes are the maritime atmosphere, the fresh air along the dikes and rural vistas, alternating with picturesque streets and, of course, the eel smokehouse.
Did you know that we have a small heathland nearby? Het Heitje van Katham is a primeval landscape and has no less than four different types of heathland. Also worth visiting are the other villages around the Gouwzee: Monnickendam and Marken. Lovers of monumental atmospheres can also indulge themselves here.

Our restaurant is particularly suitable as a starting point or intermediate stop on your chosen route. With a piece of apple pie and coffee, listen to the rippling waves while your battery is recharged. Free parking and bicycle storage, free recharging of electric bicycles and free use of sanitary facilities: this is music to the ears of every walker and cyclist, right?

We had dinner here last night with a group of ladies. What a breath of fresh air this nice restaurant is. The staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. They were very thoughtful about allergies and everyone had a smile on their face. We were with a large group and everyone loved the food.

Super food and a gewldige service no words. As always we start with the unmatched fish pallet (if it ever falls away .........) a salad that tastes great. Spareribs that fall apart so tender, mussels or stew, sirloin steak everything is equally delicious. Then the potato wedges, stewed pears, salad and papat just super. Until the next one xxx
- C8375QKjohanv 25/06/22 The restaurant is located just outside the centre of Volendam on a small harbour. You feel immediately welcome upon entering and despite the crowds, the service has all the time for the guests.
We took the tapas menu, all the dishes were equally delicious. A great experience.

The staff was very friendly and they created a cosy atmosphere. Even the stove was adjusted for us!
The food all looked good and was delicious!

But what we got exceeded everything! It was incredible, and everything was also well prepared and incredibly tasty (steak, pork tenderloin, all perfect and tender). Which is really quite clever with the large amount of orders they had.
Hopefully there will still be the possibility for this kind of takeaway, especially at Christmas, even when the restaurants are open again. - A-Carrel 29/08/22 Plenty of choice of tasty dishes at an affordable price. Friendly service in a cozy restaurant, what more could you want. And in the most beautiful fishing village in the Netherlands at the marina, what a location!
